According to The Harley Medical Group, there has been a huge increase in the amount of new mums in the UK and Ireland choosing to emabark on cosmetic surgery straight after giving birth.
The Harley Medical Group have clinics in Ireland which attracts most of the cosmetic surgery procedures carried out there. They have seen a 20% increase in the demand for cosmetic surgery procedures year on year, with procedures such as liposuction, breast uplifts, breast reductions and tummy tucks proving to be the most popular procedures
A spokeswoman for The Harley Medical Group, Liz Dale, stated that mothers very often find that their abdominal muscles are remain weak for a long period of time, causing the skin to become looser, and want their breasts to be uplifted and more pert after having a baby.
"The Harley Medical Group surgeons make sure that post pregnancy patients are in good health and not breast feeding. There will be a time period before a post pregnant woman can have surgery," she noted.
"For example Harley Medical advise all post-breastfeeding patients to wait four to six months for breast augmentation and liposuction and tummy tuck patients to wait until they are closer to their ideal weight," she recommended.
