According to The American Society of
Plastic Surgeons there was a 14% increase in the number of women embarking on
face lift surgery this year. This figure is even more
for men, who have seen a 16% rise in face lift procedure.
Women saw a 14% rise in
Boob enlargement surgery, while men increased their want for chest/
boob implants by 8%.
It is clear that the rise in
cosmetic surgery over the past few years has been in places that are clear for others to view. This is a trend that reflects on how conscious most of us are about being physically perceived by others.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons president, Dr Richard D'Amico also stated: "It is not surprising that the highly visible focal points of the face and chest would interest both women and men seeking plastic surgery".
The percentage of
cosmetic surgery procedures performed on Women are thought to be around 91%, where as the men are expected to receive 9% of all
cosmetic surgery care in the UK. The fact that there has been such a significant increase in cosmetic surgery amongst both sex's is a sign that the industry will continue to grow, whilst we as a nation care more and more about our physical appearance.
